MIS expands into China

Maxx Intermodal Systems has sent its first permanent representative, Mr Joachim Hanssen, to China. Mr Hanssen, who will be located in the existing Rhenus set up in Shanghai, was previously responsible for the company’s activities in Kazakhstan.

Rhenus is well represented in China. The company is providing services from Dalian, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Xiamen and Hong Kong. The set up in Shanghai is the company's largest office in China.

In China, Mr Hanssen’s primary focus is to develop and provide intermodal services to the CIS. He will also coordinate and promote further collaboration between the company and other Rhenus offices in the country and strengthen the company’s relationship with existing agents and clients in the region.

“Moving to China is a natural expansion for our company,” says Mr Hanssen. “Shanghai has experienced a tremendous growth recently and this location is key for our growth and client service.”

Speaking on this new development, Mr Martin De Sterck, CEO of Maxx Intermodal Systems said: “China is among our top areas of geographical interest and we are committed to serving our clients in the region. By establishing our presence in Shanghai we will be able to do this more effectively and efficiently. This will ensure greater control and guarantee better service quality.”
