OOO Rhenus Port Logistics was set up in Russia in 2008 and is now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to expand and increase its activities in Russia

Background:

• Rhenus Port Logistics is a specialized provider for the transport, handling and storage of bulk articles, heavy loads and machinery shipments.
• Rhenus Port Logistics has own facilities and interfaces to the railway at all important locations in the sea ports and the hinterland.
• In Europe, Rhenus Port Logistics is present in 17 sea ports and 29 inland multimodal terminals for transhipment of bulk and containerized cargo.
• Rhenus Port Logistics is mainly handling the following types of cargo: coal, paper, metal, wood, minerals, building equipment, machinery, agricultural products and containerized cargo.
• Rhenus Port Logistics operates its own fleet of 42 coaster and river vessels and a fleet of 130 own trucks. It also operates its own locomotives on the railway network of DB.
• Besides transport and handling, Rhenus also offers other services, such as collection and transport of recyclable solid waste and IT solutions and value-added services for the retail industry.
OOO Rhenus Port Logistics is 100% owned by Rhenus AG & Co.

Job Description

• Closely monitor the Russian bulk cargo market
• Identify core markets and clients in line with the company’s goals and strategy
• Develop business targets and contact new potential customers
• Liaise with agents, subcontractors and partners
• Manage existing routes and actively assist in the development of new routes and trade lanes
• Make price calculations and send/follow-up commercial offers
• Develop tender management and key account management
• Conduct regular clients’ visits
• Work in close cooperation with operations team and guide operations in start-up phase
• Provide first-class customer service

Requirements

• Previous experience in port handling of bulk cargoes, transport of bulk cargoes by rail, river and road. Preferably in Russia for a minimum of 3-5 years.
• Previous experience in dealing with Russian railways
• Fluent English (working knowledge of German is a plus)
• Proficiency with computers
• Able to build substantial relationships with key customer accounts
• Accurate and self-driven
• Organizational skills
• Ready to travel
• Outgoing personality
• Customer oriented

Remarks

• The position is located in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Regular travel between both cities is necessary.
